Governor Impact at Castle View GB Meeting Spring 2018

The last Governor’s meeting was postponed to near the end of the Autumn term, this left little time for any realistic actions to be taken before Christmas break.  Prior to which the pupils delivered yet another spectacular Christmas performance for parents and carers to enjoy.

Since the start of the New Year we have held an Extraordinary Governing Body meeting in order to formally start the procedure of appointing a new Headteacher.  A Selection Panel of four Governors (including the Chair and Vice-Chair) was chosen.  These members then held a separate meeting with the Divisional Manager for Education from the Local Authority and agreed on the procedure and timeline for advertising, shortlisting and interviewing for the position.

At the time of writing this impact statement applications have been received and the shortlisting has been carried out.  Interviews will commence within the next week.

Other staffing within school has now settled, establishing greater stability for the pupils.

Meetings between the Acting Headteacher, Governors of the Finance Committee and the school’s accountant have taken place to ensure that the school is operating within a sensible financial structure.
