Safeguarding

We hold the safeguarding and well-being of our pupils as a priority. Please see our policies and documents below. You can also click here for useful contacts for help and support regarding safeguarding, or visit the Halton Safeguarding website.

The school’s designated person for Safeguarding and Child Protection is Mrs Edwards, and the deputy designated person is Mrs Morgan.

Our school is also part of a project, which is run between Halton Borough Council schools and Cheshire Police. This project called Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting of any domestic violence incidents that occur outside school, which might have an impact on a child in school. This is done through a phone call to our school’s Key Adult (Ms Melarangi). This will begin on 4th January 2016. See the document below for more information.

Snapchat – Snapchat map update raises child safety worries. Please see the link here regarding safeguarding information about the app “Snapchat”.

Online safety – The internet often plays a huge part in many young people’s daily activities; allowing them to communicate freely with others and share information with ease via messaging apps, social media and gaming networks. Please click here for advice for parents and children on how to behave online.

Live Streaming – You can now broadcast from anywhere in the world, to anywhere in the world for free using the device in your back pocket (mobile phone). Do you know the difference between live.ly and live.me? Read this leaflet and help keep your child safer online.

Please see below Parental Guidance for parents who want to know about how to keep their children safe on different games consoles and Apple products.
