In English this week, the children have revisited their knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar with a particular focus on ensuring that they spell Year 1 common exception words correctly.  They have also recalled their use of adjectives, verbs and conjunctions.

Maths

This week, the children have continued to revisit key topics and recall their knowledge of number and place value. 

Homework   

As part of a speaking & listening activity and a fun learning homework, we would like the children to showcase their talent which they can do individually or with a friend.  We will be hosting the Year 1 talent show on Monday 21st July. The

children are welcome to bring any equipment, instruments, or other items they need for their act.

• Can you play an instrument?
• Are you the next X Factor winner, can you sing or rap?
• Can you play lots of amazing sports?
• Are you the next big movie star?
• Do you think you could beat the world record for anything?

We can’t wait to see all the wonderful talent!!

Please complete the given assignment.

Allow the children to play the games, the children have been shown how to do this.

Daily Reading

Children should be reading daily for at least 10 minutes a day.

Please do discuss the story with your child in order to check their understanding. 

Spellings  

There will be no spelling test this week. However, we would like the children to continue to practise the Year 1 common exception words in preparation for Year 2.

WELL DONE CHILDREN!!!

As we come to the end of a wonderful year in Year 1, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. It has been such a joy watching the children grow – not only in their learning, but also in confidence and independence.

They have worked really hard. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and how much they have matured throughout the year.
